Board approves balanced budget for 2025-26 school year

On June 16, 2025, Wellington Catholic District School Board Trustees approved a balanced budget for the 2025-26 school year, totaling $157,676,775. The budget is comprised of a total operating budget of $143,716,847 and a total capital budget of $13,959,928.

The 2025-26 budget reflects the Board's ongoing commitment to fiscal responsibility and student success. It supports the needs of the district's growing Catholic community with projects that will enhance learning spaces, increase accessibility, and provide high-quality, inclusive education to every student.

Strategic Priorities and Program Investment

 The 2025–2026 budget reflects investments aligned with both Ministry priorities and the Board’s strategic direction as outlined in the Board’s new strategic plan. Key areas of focus include:

  • Faith Formation – Strengthening Catholic identity and deepening opportunities for spiritual growth and community engagement
  • Early Reading – Supporting foundational literacy skills in the primary years
  • Digital Security – Ensuring safe and secure digital environments for students and staff
  • Mental Health and Special Education – Expanding supports to promote well-being and equitable access to learning
  • Learning Environment Improvements – Continued investment in playgrounds, gymnasiums, and classrooms
  • Experiential Learning Programs – Opportunities in Graphic Design, Manufacturing, Hospitality, and Sport Leadership
  • Outdoor Education
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) – Sustained delivery of the IB program at both the Elementary and Secondary levels
